What made you decide to work in Karzzzz?
I was quite unsure of what I was getting into. Firstly, I was required to play a character in two age groups, that I am nowhere close to in real life. However, Bhushan Kumar and Satish Kaushik managed to brainwash me into playing this role.
Is the story line of the new Karzzzz different in any way?
I have watched the original Karz several times; I am a fan. But, Karzzzz is different. It is for today’s audience. Watch the film, is all I’ll say, for now.
What was the experience of working with Himesh Reshammiya like?
It was a pleasure to work with Himesh. He is very professional and extremely dedicated. He has worked out and lost oodles of weight for this role to look like a rock star. The role is different from the original ‘Monty’. Himesh also brings his own style and personality to the role, and has essayed the role of a rock star perfectly.
Do you think Himesh Reshammiya is a better actor, singer or music composer?
I think he’s a fantastic artist and his commitment to anything he takes up is admirable.
How important would you say this movie is to your career?
Karzzzz is a film dear to me. I was very apprehensive at first, but it’s been a wonderful journey. It’s not just about a career, it’s about what satisfies an artist.
Do you feel that directors in Indian Cinema prefer working with younger actresses?
The industry has a lot to offer today. There are roles apt for everyone and age is definitely no bar.
